Asia–Pacific Conference on Paediatric Bioethics

  • APEC

The Asia–Pacific Conference on Paediatric Bioethics is a regional academic initiative dedicated to advancing ethical reflection, dialogue, and practice in the care of children across diverse healthcare settings.

  • Paediatric Ethics

Now in its fourth edition, the conference brings together clinicians, researchers, bioethicists, legal scholars, educators, and policymakers who share a commitment to addressing the complex ethical challenges that arise in paediatric medicine and child health.

  • Global Brand Reach.

We’re Nicole & Andreas, and we founded Meetco to energize the global conference landscape and bring curious, creative minds together.

Our Background

  • The first three Asia–Pacific Conferences on Paediatric Bioethics were successfully hosted at the National University of Singapore and in Penang, Malaysia, establishing a strong foundation for collaborative engagement and scholarly exchange in the region.
  • The Fourth Asia–Pacific Conference on Paediatric Bioethics, to be held in Bengaluru, India, continues this legacy while expanding the scope of paediatric bioethics as an emerging and essential specialty in India and the wider Asia–Pacific community.

Our Purpose

Paediatric healthcare presents unique ethical questions involving:

  • Decision-making for children and adolescents
  • Parental authority and the child’s best interests
  • Ethical conduct of research involving minors
  • Equity and access in child health services
  • Public health responsibilities toward children
  • Emerging technologies and their impact on paediatric care

This conference aims to provide a platform for thoughtful deliberation on these and other contemporary issues from clinical, research, and policy perspectives.

Our Vision

The conference is envisioned as an intimate residential academic gathering, designed to promote meaningful participation, critical thinking, and deep engagement rather than large-scale formal proceedings.

By bringing together a carefully selected group of participants, the meeting seeks to:

  • Foster high-quality ethical discussion
  • Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Support the development of paediatric bioethics expertise
  • Strengthen regional networks in child health ethics
  • Inspire future scholarship and policy contributions

Commitment to Meaningful Engagement

* Participation in the conference is limited to ensure interactive dialogue and sustained academic exchange. Applicants are selected by an independent selection panel based on predefined criteria to maintain the highest standards of deliberation.

* The meeting is fully supported for selected participants, reflecting our commitment to making this forum accessible to those who can contribute meaningfully to the field.

Moving Forward

The Asia–Pacific Conference on Paediatric Bioethics represents a growing regional effort to ensure that ethical reasoning remains central to paediatric care, research, and policy development.

We look forward to welcoming participants to Bengaluru for what promises to be a thoughtful, impactful, and collaborative gathering dedicated to advancing paediatric bioethics in our region.
